Introducing GlennKessler for iOS 3.0

The Articles tab on iPad in GlennKessler for iOS 3.0 has been completely redesigned with a new visual layout to take advantage of the beautiful, large display of iPad. Filters are now located on the main page, making it easier than ever to filter between 1, 2, 3, and 4 Pinocchio articles, Democrat articles, and Republican articles. Alternatively, you can slide between filters by swiping horizontally across the screen. Lastly, the reading interface has been simplified, with an all-new reading view that is devoid of ads and distractions. All you have to do is read.

While GlennKessler for iOS 3.0 focused primarily on iPad, iPhone didn’t get left out of the fun. In version 3.0, iPhone gets the clean new reading interface, the redesigned Pinocchio Game, the large library of videos, background interview audio, and the new Glenn Kessler tab.

Videos

The About and Contact tabs have been merged into one new tab called Glenn Kessler in GlennKessler for iOS 3.0. In the Glenn Kessler tab, you can read about Glenn, swipe between the organized information sections, as well as email him with a tap.

The Interviews tab now fits in with the design of the Articles tab, using a similar card-based layout. Interview descriptions are displayed in their entirety and each interview has an accompanying image. The Interviews tab has also gained a nifty new feature: if you start playing an interview in the app, and then switch to another app, the interview will continue playing in the background.

The Pinocchio Game is a fun way to test your political knowledge (and your memory skills). The game presents you with a quote, you select the rating, and discover the answer once you submit. You can read an explanation for the correct rating, and optionally read the full article. The app keeps track of your score and will either congratulate or admonish you at the end of the game. When you finish a game, your score is saved to a wall of previous games. At any time, you can revisit past games and share your scores with your friends. With a constantly updating database of questions, the game will never get boring.

Searching is an iPad-only feature new to GlennKessler for iOS 3.0. To access search, tap on the search icon in the top right corner of the Articles page. From there, the intelligent search figures out what you are searching for and instantly displays the results. Tap on a result to read the full article. It’s that simple.

The Videos tab has a new look, along with a large library of 25 videos, with new ones coming frequently. Tap on a video you want to see, and the information card will pop right up. You can read the description and learn more about the video all while the video plays in the top section of the card.
